lot 78
Lot78 is dedicated to continually supporting young talent as well as encouraging social events for friends and family of the brand. In light of this the “lot78...”campaign was born. This campaign can be seen globally in many forms namely “lot78... presents” and “lot78... is board!”, these projects combine two aspects: collaboration and social interaction.
Lot78... is board.
“in order to live free and happily, you must sacrifice boredom. It is not always an easy sacrifice.” Richard Bach (1936)
The “Lot78...is board” project was established in 2011 to encourage everyone to find their voice, vent their issues, and ultimately realise what bores them to enable positive change to take place. This project essentially is the public sacrifice of boredom.
The project involves presenting the public with 6ft anthracite boards and white marker pens and simply asking “what bores you?” once written the participant is challenged to change the situation they are bored of and make a positive step forward to a state of “anti-boredom”
This project was launched in London (april, 2011) and presented on the menswear contemporary floor of Selfridges (Oxford Street) as part of a pop up store, however will be taken globally with boards popping up in Melbourne, New York and Malawi.
This project will end with a gallery showing the collective boards from around the world presented to the public highlighting the worlds differing views, challenges and cultures as well as the positive change the project will make on defeating boredom.
Lot78... Presents
The “Lot78...presents” project was established within the “house of Lot” to create social events aimed to support new talents, as well as, create a social setting for all people involved with the brand, whether family member or buyer. Lot78 has since held events such as the new talent art gallery in a Mayfair derelict pub, and had several dinner parties at the “lot on ledbury” store. As well as the events, this project involves creating collaboration opportunites with artists and designers such as the collections created with Rake, Sadia Rafique and Puma.
